Why the mandate existed
The previous Head of Engineering had moved into the CTO role, and there was no immediate replacement. The need was for someone to carry engineering leadership during that gap.
I held the interim mandate from October 2025 to September 2026 through SQUER, alongside my Product, Data & AI business unit role.
The scope
I led the engineering organization and reported to the VP Digital Logistics Platform. The platform carried millions of transactions across more than ten integrated systems.
The mandate centred on continuity: providing day-to-day engineering leadership while the organization covered a vacant role. It was an operational leadership responsibility, rather than an advisory assignment or a separate employment relationship with the client.
Its place in my work
The assignment brought direct engineering accountability into a different organizational setting from my earlier Corporate IT role. It sits alongside the commercial and business unit responsibilities described in the SQUER case.
