What to include
A first message that answers these four things saves a whole round trip, and usually gets a straight answer instead of a discovery call:
- The decision that is stuckNot the technology. The call nobody has been able to make, and why.
- Who owns itThe person accountable for the outcome, and whether they are in the conversation.
- The constraintRegulatory, budget, timeline, or an existing commitment that cannot move.
- What good looks likeThe observable change that would tell you it worked.

Good fit, bad fit
Best fit: AI programmes that stall between pilot and production, IT strategy that has to survive a budget cycle, technology organizations being scaled or restructured, AI governance and data protection in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, commercial strategy for product and AI services, and interim IT or digital leadership while a permanent seat is being filled.Bad fit: staff augmentation, work that cannot be staffed and delivered end to end, tool selection with no accountable owner inside the organization, and consumer, ad-tech, or token projects. Saying so early is cheaper for both of us than a proposal neither of us believes.

Larger work runs through SQUER, where I lead the Product, Data & AI unit; that is where the delivery teams sit. Advisory conversations, second opinions, and governance reviews can start directly with me. Either way the rule is the same: the people giving the advice are accountable for making it work, and I decline what we cannot staff.Working languages are English and German.
