The assignment
A manufacturing company with global sites and seasonal operating peaks needed a clearer plan for IT modernization. The advisory engagement covered the service-management roadmap, security operations assurance, and the case for infrastructure spending.
The work
I developed a phased ITSM roadmap covering a dedicated service-management platform, asset and configuration data, license management, self-service, and reporting. The sequencing accounted for the company’s operating calendar rather than assuming changes could be introduced at any time.
The security operations work defined an assurance approach with scenario-based testing, review cycles, response runbooks, and management reporting.
For the investment case, I translated infrastructure needs and risks into a sequenced set of decisions for the board, covering cost, timing, and the business implications of service disruption.
Deliverables
The engagement produced a modernization roadmap, an assurance approach, and an investment case to support the company’s funding and implementation decisions.
